This plant produces small dark berries that are usually consumed by birds. It is a vine and grows near the wetlands at the top of Phulchowki at 2550m. It has small dark green leaves with white-petaled flowers at the axis point along the stems.

Himalayan Yellow Raspberry
Nepali: Ainselu
A very popular treat for people working in the forests. Some people collect them and sell them on roadsides near the Botanic Gardens in Godavari. An evergreen shrub that grows around rocks and near trails in the lower hills. The flowers are white growing in panicles at the ends of strong vining branches. It may have Medicinal uses in pregnancy. Found all over the Himalayas and widely though S. and SE Asia at lower elevations. (Photos credit Mahendra Singh Limbu).

Hill Raspberry
Nepali: Kalo Ainselu
A sizeable shrub with spreading branches was found in the forest at Phulchowki. The fruits are mainly eaten by birds. Leaves are trifoliate with two small upper leaves and one large terminal leaf. The flowers are pale pink. Berries are at first yellow then turn dark purple at maturity. The hill Raspberry is very common throughout S. Asia and SE Asia.

Heart-Leaf Raspberry
Nepali: 
The Heart-leaf Raspberry is a climber. The leaves are heart-shaped and thus the name. The fruits are first pale red then black when ripe.

Three Leaf Raspberry
Nepali: Kaalo Ainselu
This is a shrubby raspberry found at higher locations beside Phulchowki Road. It is eaten only by birds. The leaves are ovate and about equal in size. It grows in the swampy wetlands near the summit with a small pond. This raspberry is found in the  Himalayas from Pakistan to Myanmar and Thailand.

Lined Cinquefoil
Nepali: Bajradanti
Lined Cinquefoil was growing in a grazing area on top of a treeless hill at an elevation of 2100m. It was low-growing and spreading with grasses and other herbaceous plants. The leaves were hairy, ovate, and sawtoothed. In October, the small bright yellow flowers were found as single or double blooms on short-hairy stems just off the ground.
