The flowers on this plant are very small and fuzzy. They are sometimes deep blue or dark pink with bright yellow anthers. They grow on long stems with a few flower bracts at the ends or at the nodes. It is found across the Himalayas at elevations ranging from 800 to 2700m. These were photographed in a damp meadow with Alium, grasses, and Anaphalis. Flowering occurred in September.

Nepali:
A common roadside perennial herb that is easily overlooked. The tiny flower has two pale purple upper petals and two lower petals that seem transparent. The bright yellow center anthers and flower shapes are different from all other plants on the Phulchowi mountain.
