Poppy Family
Pleasant Corydalis
Nepali: Karm Ghaans or Okhare Ghaans
The tubular yellow flowers grow on long stems from a cluster of long serrated leaves. Flowers were noticed in late July and continued to flower through September with long pods forming on the stems. They were very common along the Phulchowki road in fairly large clumps. They are chemically important with potential antimicrobial attributes and Antioxidants.
Dactylicapnos macrocapnos (Prain) Hutch.
Yellow Bleeding Hearts
Nepali:
A vine that was found near the small pond below the army camp at 2500m had heart-shaped flowers and was twisted through multiple layers of other vegetation. The flowers were just beginning to open at the end of August. I only saw them in one place on Phulchowki Road. Regionally they are found from Northwest India to Nepal and into Eastern Himalayas.
