Bur Mallow or Caesar's weed

This is an invasive plant that grows in disturbed areas throughout the world. The bright pink flower with dark pink in the center is typical. The leaf shapes vary but the photo shows the more typical leaf type. It flowers later in the year. I found this one in September along the road in a degraded area. Later it makes burs that stick especially well to socks and animal fur. The location was facing west at 1750m. Medicinal value comes from the leaves that are used for sore throat, urinary troubles, and dysentery.
